Dr. Faisal Ahmad Khan
Dr. Faisal Ahmad Khan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Public Private Partnership Authority, Government of Balochistan. Previously he has served as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean at BUITEMS University, Quetta. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, USA. More recently, Dr. Khan spear heads the public private partnership authority in implementing a range of PPP projects in various sectors including transportation, industries, sustainable cities, environment, renewable energy, cooperative agriculture and livestock, healthcare and education. Dr. Khan has formed a diverse network of collaborators among the national and international agencies across multiple sectors while implementing PPP projects. Dr. Khan has been acclaimed locally as a resourceful community mobilizer, a flair which he has acquired through leading PPP implementation and through his previous roles in academia and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Dr. Khan is a Senior Member (SM) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is the founding chair of the IEEE Quetta Subsection. He has been the founding conference chair of the biennial IEEE International Conference on Computing, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (IEEE ICE Cube Conference). He is the co-founder of the annual Quetta Literary Festival (www.quettalf.org). He is the national council member of National Computing Education Accreditation Council and has also served as member of the Board of Directors Ignite National Technology Fund Pakistan. Dr. Khan has served as member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Digital Economy.
Awards and distinctions to his credit include Fulbright Ph.D. fellowship, the British Council Momentum award, and outstanding leadership award from IEEE Karachi section.
